So much has changed since I wrote my first Magic Submitter Review that I have posted this update to keep you abreast of all the new additions and improvements that Alexandr Krulik and his team have implemented in the past several months.

Actually, going over my original criticisms of Magic Submitter I see that every one of those criticisms have been addressed and are no longer an issue. My main concerns were that no profile link submissions or Press Release Services were available. Since then, in July 2010, 150 Expression Engine forums were added to provide the ability to obtain profile links. As of Jan 2011 this number has now grown to 550! Press Release submissions were also made available and the current number of sites available total 18. The other issue I noted was that no pdf user guide was provided however this was very quickly addressed mid-2010.

Any Additional Magic Submitter Criticisms?

So are there any criticisms of Magic Submitter now? Certainly not many. From my own point of view the software submission scheduler is not fully automated as it runs on your computer so obviously if your computer is not running or not online it cannot submit. However this is only a minor problem as it’s simple to resume submissions at a time that’s convenient. And for those users who want a fully automated solution then running the software on a VPS will take care of it.

The only other issues I see is that the software does take some time to learn and become proficient with however this is no different with any other new software that entails a learning curve. And secondly, it will never be perfect. Some people will always complain because it hasn’t provided a 100% successful submission but realistically with the amount of variables and rapid change occurring on the Internet this is impossible.

Any software of this type that provides an 80% to 90% success rate with the submission process should be considered excellent. Also, some people will not be happy no matter what, at purchasing software that incurs a monthly fee. However, considering the amount of value provided with continuing improvements and regular updates, many others will see this as a plus.

To give you an idea, since the release of Magic Submitter in mid 2010 the software has now been updated 32 times, keeping it working efficiently and also adding a lot of extra value. You would not get this same level of service with a one off purchase.
